Dr. Larenas-Linnemann received her MD with honors in 1992 at the Rijksuniversiteit Utrecht in the Netherlands. In 1995 she received her title as Pediatrician and in 1997 as Pediatric Allergist at the National Institute of Pediatrics in Mexico City, Mexico. She has been working at her private practice at the Hospital Médica Sur in Mexico City since 2001. Dr. Larenas-Linnemann is an internationally well-known and highly regarded expert in the field of allergy (especially in immunotherapy, allergic rhinitis, urticaria and asthma). For more than five years she has participated as a co-author and editor for the ARIA Guidelines (Allergic Rhinitis and its Impact on Asthma 2016, 2010 and 2008), she is member of the expert panel of the Global Guidelines on Urticaria (2016) and Immunotherapy (2013, 2009). In 2012 she was named ARIA Country Coordinator for Mexico as a member of the ARIA international committee. Dr. Larenas-Linnemann is a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI) and is also a member of the Clinical Science Workgroup of their Annual Meeting Program Committee. Furthermore, she is the President of the Mesoamerican Region of the Sociedad Latinoamericana de Alergia, Asma e Inmunología (SLAAI) and the 2nd Secretary of the Board of Directors of Colegio Mexicano de Inmunología Clínica y Alergia (CMICA).

Dr. Larenas-Linnemann has chaired a working group on immunotherapy in patients with special medical conditions since 2012. In 2015 she also became a member of the Practical Parameters on Immunotherapy working group of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI). Since 2007 she has been the chair of the Immunotherapy Committee of the CMICA, Mexico (Mexican College of Allergists). She has also been a valued member of the Immunotherapy Committee of the World Allergy Organization (WAO) since 2011. From 2009 to 2013 she chaired the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI) immunotherapy committee and she was chair of the interest section IRSOC (Immunotherapy, Rhinitis, Sinusitis, Ocular Disease and Cough) of the AAAAI from 2013 to 2015.

In recognition of her expertise in the field of allergy, Dr. Larenas-Linnemann has been invited to lecture at plenary, keynote, symposia, and expert discussion sessions and workshops at conferences such as the National Allergy Congresses, the AAAAI annual conference, the EAACI annual conference, and the World Allergy Congress. Dr. Larenas-Linnemann has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and has written various book chapters and immunotherapy guidelines. She became member of the National System of Investigators in January 2016 and her clinic received the recognition as Excellence Center from experts of the Allergie-Centrum-Charité, Universitätsmedizin (Berlin, Alemania) in August 2016.

Breve reseña

La doctora Désirée Larenas Linnemann recibió su título de médico cirujano en la Rijksuniversiteit Utrecht en Holanda en 1992, con mención honorífica. Se graduó de pediatra y dos años después de alergóloga por parte de la UNAM en México. Actualmente es coordinadora Nacional de la Guía Mexicana del Asma (GUIMA), Presidente del International Societies Council de la Academia Europea de Alergia y Inmunología (EAACI) y Presidente del capítulo Centroamérica de la Sociedad Latinoamericana de Alergia, Asma e Inmunología (SLAAI). Fue presidente del comité de inmunoterapia de la American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI) de 2009-2013 y posteriormente Coordinadora general de IRSOC (AAAAI, 2013-2015), donde forma parte del Anual Meeting Program Committee desde 2011. En 2012 fue nombrada coordinadora por México de ARIA y fue coordinadora general de ARIA México 2014 y la Guía Mexicana de Urticaria 2014. 2013-2015 formó parte de la mesa directiva del Colegio Mexicano de Inmunología Clínica y Alergía (CMICA). Es autora de más de 105 publicaciones en revistas indexadas y miembro del comité editorial de Annals of Allergy y Revista Alergia México. Ha dado múltiples conferencias en congresos nacionales e internacionales (EEUU, Europa, mundial: AAAAI, ACAAI, EAACI, WAO) de la especialidad, acerca de inmunoterapia, diagnóstico de alergia, urticaria y rinitis alérgica. Desde enero 2016 es miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (SNI). Actualmente ejerce en la práctica privada en el Hospital Médica Sur, México DF. En Agosto 2016 la clínica fue acreditada como Centro de Excelencia por expertos del Allergie-Centrum-Charité, Universitätsmedizin (Berlin, Alemania)
